The Challenge

Walker Accounting is a well-respected CPA firm with 15 years of expertise in small business accounting, tax strategy, and financial planning. David Walker built the practice on referrals and word-of-mouth — and it worked.

Until it didn’t. Referrals were slowing. Competitors with slicker websites and Google Ads were capturing clients who didn’t know Walker existed. And when potential clients did find them, the experience was friction-filled: an outdated website, a generic contact form, and a 24–48 hour response time.

In an industry built on trust, their first impression wasn’t building any.

Our Approach

Discovery Session

We mapped how small business owners search for accountants — and discovered it’s almost always triggered by a specific pain point: tax season panic, outgrowing QuickBooks, or getting burned by their current CPA. The messaging needed to address these moments.

Touchpoint Audit

We traced every path a potential client might take: Google search → website → contact → response → consultation → engagement. Every step had problems.

Key findings:

  • Website looked like it was built in 2015 (it was)
  • No clear differentiation — looked like every other accounting firm online
  • Contact form had no immediate response (average reply: 27 hours)
  • Zero content addressing common client pain points
  • No reviews visible despite 50+ happy long-term clients
  • After-hours inquiries (60% of contacts) went completely unanswered until the next business day

The Build

Website Redesign — Clean, modern, trustworthy. Clear service pages, transparent pricing guidance, and client success stories front and center. Built to answer the question every visitor has: “Is this the right accountant for me?”

AI Response System — Every inquiry — web form, phone call, or text — gets an immediate, intelligent response. The AI assistant answers common tax questions, gathers intake information, and books consultations directly into David’s calendar. It handles after-hours contacts seamlessly.

Lead Capture Optimization — Replaced the generic “Contact Us” form with a smart intake that asks 3 questions, immediately qualifies the lead, and routes to the right service path. Conversion rate jumped from 2.1% to 3.9%.

Review Generation Engine — Automated review requests to long-term clients (starting with the happiest ones). Within 90 days, went from 12 Google reviews to 47 — all authentic, all 5-star.

Content Strategy — Monthly blog posts addressing seasonal pain points: “What to do if you missed your quarterly tax payment,” “When to switch from sole proprietor to LLC.” Each post designed to capture long-tail search traffic and establish authority.
